Birthday Party Celebration (2012)

HOW TO COMPLETE THE EVENT:

First of all, this was probably the most “complex” birthday Mousehunt ever had, with so many ways to approach the event. In an overview, the King asks you to build a Carrot Birthday Cake for the celebration, but the pesky mice stole the ingredients again! You will have to catch certain mice to build the cake.

You muse gather the ingredients in this order (the ingredients drop one at a time):

15 Blobs of Cake Batter

15 Dollops of Icing

4 Birthday Cake Candle

4 Spark of Candle Flame

One thing to note is that different types of cheese attract different mice populations.

To have a 100% catch rate in this area, a 26+ luck is recommended. But of course, it’s not required and pretty much any player with a Swiss Army trap or better will fare well. .

TRAP SETUPS: The best trap here is the Chorme Tacky Glue trap (See Ronza 2012) because it has the highest attraction and sufficient luck for a 100% catch rate. Pair this with the Cheesecake or Wooden Base with Target and you should fare well. If you don’t have the Chrome Tacky Glue trap, use your highest attraction trap with sufficient luck.

Now we will take a look at what types of cheese is best for attracting each specific group of mice.

For collecting blobs of cake batter, use Brie or Swiss, which will attract the following population:
White
Grey
Brown
Cowardly
Buckethead
Pintail
Elven Princess
Birthday
Sleepwalker

For collecting Dollops of Icing, use Gouda or SB+ which will attract the following populations:
Scruffy
Dwarf
Magic (only attracted to SB+)
Buckethead
Steel
Party Head
Pintail
Elven Princess
Birthday
Sleepwalker

Cheese worst than Gouda

Flying
Frozen

Dinosuit
Elven Princess

Anyway, now that you have the cheeses sorted out, know that using party charms help collect the cake parts quicker by attracting those mice quicker. Also, getting the 4 candle sparks REQUIRE using nanny charms to catch the Terrible Twos Mouse, which drops the candle sparks. This means that one must be a Journeyman with access to the Mountain to successfully get the entire cake.

Cake Polaroid

There’s not much more to building the cake, all you need is a high luck/ high attraction rate to quickly make the entire cake. Once the cake is built, a new mouse will be attracted, called the Dinosuit Mouse. This mouse drops the Cake Polaroid, which is the necessary requirement to get the LE trap. Catching this mouse should not be too difficult with decent/high luck and power. Once you get the Polaroid and 305,000 gold, you can buy the Birthday Party Pinata Bonanza!

Birthday Party Pinata Bonanza

This trap has 2,500 Physical Power along with an amazing 35% power bonus, 10 luck, but no attraction and a stale cheese effect. These stats shoot it past the Digby Drillbot in terms of usefulness. However, it is inferior to the Rhinobot, so one will most likely still get the Drillbot anyway, but this trap can make a great short term replacement.

Also, when you finish the cake, you automatically get a new base, called the Carrot Birthday Cake Base. Let’s look at the stats:

Carrot Birthday Cake Base

175 Power

Power Bonus: 5%

Attraction Bonus : 5%

Luck : 3

Cheese Effect : Fresh

This base has decent power and power bonus. The 3 luck and 5% attraction bonus also make it a good base for lower rank hunters. However, higher ranked players probably have access to better bases overall, so this base probably will be more of collector’s item for them. It’s free with the cake though, so you might as well get it.

Now, there are also the other bases that one can look at. However, the catch of getting these bases is that you have to build the entire cake AGAIN and get another Polaroid from another Dinosuit Mouse. The three bases are the Birthday Cake Base, the Chocolate Birthday Cake Base, and the Cheesecake Base. Let’s look at each one separately:

Birthday Cake Base

175 Power

Power Bonus : 11%

Attraction Bonus : 8%

Luck: None

Cheese Effect : No Effect

Chocolate Birthday Cake Base

175 Power

Power Bonus : 8%

Attraction Bonus : 5%

Luck: 1

Cheese Effect : No Effect

Cheesecake Base

175 Power

Power Bonus : 3%

Attraction Bonus : 20%

Luck: 0

Cheese Effect : No Effect

The overall best base would be the Birthday Cake Base, because it completely outshines the Chocolate Birthday Cake Base. The 1 luck that the Chocolate Birthday Cake Base has does not make up for the other things that the regular Birthday Cake base has.

There is also the Cheesecake Base, which ties for the base with the highest attraction in the game, while the other base is the Wooden Base with Target. The Cheesecake Base outclasses the Wooden Base with Target in other areas, so it can replace that. Other than that however, the Cheesecake Base is inferior to many other bases available in the game.

That’s it for the 4th Mousehunt Birthday Event! Have fun with it!
